With the release of new smartphones, biometric technologies appear to democratize. At a time when users expect manufacturers and service providers guarantee the safety of their mobile devices without shot having to worry themselves protection mechanisms underlying biometrics seems to be an ideal alternative to traditional passwords. (Users unlock their phone more than 20 times per day on average) shot
[For information technology used by the HTC is not capturing the whole of the footprint only points, which is not the case in which a scann Apple fingerprint as a whole - see the SDK A HTC to release day in applications around biometrics, not just for safety but also uses your smartphone]
"HTC has recently announced that its latest, the HTC Max One smartphone integrates a fingerprint scanner, like its competitor the Apple iPhone 5S before him. Should we conclude that the password is undergoing his last hours? I think the key to the adoption shot of biometric shot technologies factor is that they do not require any change in behavior on the part of the user, since it is anyway impossible to access the contents of the phone without pressing the main button. The only difference is that now this new button saves time by reading fingerprints shot rather than referring to an application password. Many mobile users choose not to use a PIN to not waste time ... and do not even speak words of more complex passwords. So the fingerprint scanner could well represent a breakthrough in mobile security.
On the other hand, this method also has limitations. If a password is compromised, simply replace it with another more secure. But our footprints are a part of us, and it is therefore not a question of change. If someone happens to deceive the fingerprint reader (feat that has been achieved since the launch of the latest iPhone), there is no alternative to enhance the security of the device. An initiative that seem to represent the highest level of protection could easily lead to deadlock and eventually become a very poor alternative to traditional password. "
